University Park Community Solar LLC has approved its Operating Agreement among members as a private membership organization.  We are grateful for the Pro Bono service of Carolyne Gaudet of Steptoe & Johnson LLP  in providing our Operating Agreement.   We would also like to thank Andrew M. Tucker of the firm Andrews Kurth  LLP for providing theSubscription Agreement for individuals to join our limited partnership.

On April 14, 2010, we signed the Solar Energy Generation System Engineering, Procurement and Construction Agreement with Standard Solar to install the solar generating system.  We have worked closely with our Host, the Church of the Brethren, assisted by Standard Solar in writing the Power Purchase Agreement.   The PPA was finalized and signed April 25, 2010 by representatives of the Church and UPCS.

The Church of the Brethren executed an Interconnection Agreement with Pepco September 7, 2010 as a Small Generator Facility.  On November 23, 2010, the Maryland Public Service Commission approved UPCS LLC's application as a Tier 1 , Level 2 Solar Renewable Energy Facility which allows the LLC to sell Solar Renewable Energy Certificates in the PJM-GATS market.

Finally, UP Community Solar LLC had enlisted the help of the Maryland Intellectual Property Legal Resource Center (“MIPLRC”) at the beginning of our solar endeavor.  The MIPLRC is an educational program whose primary mission is to train University of Maryland law students by providing them with an opportunity to participate directly in the representation of clients under the close and regular supervision of an experienced licensed attorney.  We would like to thank them for their assistance.
